The developer behind a 26-unit housing development on Bidwell Street in Manchester is asking town officials to add 11 units to the project.
The original proposal, which the Planning and Zoning Commission approved in 2023, includes a 26-unit residential development and associated site improvements at 30 Bidwell St.
Construction on the project, called Bidwell Commons, is underway.
But now, the developer — Hari Kuppuraj, president and CEO of Trivik Builders in South Windsor — wants to expand the project, adding two new buildings along with the already-approved four, bringing the total number of units to 37.
The proposed change would rezone 1.12 acres in the southeastern corner of the property at 30 Bidwell St., from rural residential to planned residential development.
A public hearing on the request is scheduled at the Planning and Zoning Commission’s meeting at 7 tonight.
If approved, the developer would build two additional buildings, one with six units and the other with five.
The residences are two-story, two-bedroom units, each with a private front entrance on the ground floor.
The property will also have outdoor recreation space for residents, according to plans.
