The Wisdom House Retreat and Conference Center in Litchfield has dedicated a 15.2 kilowatt solar photovoltaic system.
The 80 solar panels installed on the property in August will offset 25 percent of the electricity use at the Wisdom House campus, with the help of energy conservation efforts.
Those energy conservation efforts include energy-efficient lighting, Energy Star appliances, better boilers, artesian wells providing all the center’s water and increased recycling. The center also won’t use pesticides in its gardens.
The Wisdom House first was established in 1770, and its first owners were dairy farmers.
