Uline, a Wisconsin-based distributor of shipping, industrial and packaging materials, is significantly expanding its East Coast operations with a new 1.25 million-square-foot warehouse in Plainfield.
The facility, approved by the town’s Planning and Zoning Commission in April 2024, is scheduled to begin operations in July 2026 and will initially generate 200 jobs, with the potential for additional hiring as the site reaches full capacity, the company said.
The new fulfillment center, located at 143-151 Plainfield Pike Road, marks Uline’s 15th such facility in North America and represents a major investment in the region’s logistics infrastructure.
The warehouse will serve as a regional hub for more than 40,000 Uline products, which the company said significantly enhances its next-day delivery capabilities to customers across New England.
A family-owned business since 1980, Uline employs more than 9,000 people across 14 regional locations and 15 sales offices. It currently has about 1,000 employees in the East Coast region.
“We’re excited to welcome new team members to Uline and our brand-new facility in Plainfield,” said Gil De Las Alas, Unline’s chief human resources officer. “We hire the very best people who want to perform at a high level. They will be supported, challenged and valued. With competitive pay, great benefits and opportunities for advancement, we’re not just offering jobs – we’re building careers.”
Plainfield, an industrial-rooted town in Windham County, has a population of about 15,000.
