Windsor’s Vantis Life CEO Tedone retiring

Windsor’s Vantis Life Insurance Co. announced Wednesday CEO Peter Tedone will retire at year-end after serving in the post for 18 years.

Ray Caucci, currently the senior vice president of product management for insurance firm Penn Mutual, will succeed Tedone as CEO and chairman. Penn Mutual acquired Vantis for $73.3 million in 2016.

Also, Vantis announced it promoted Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Scott Smith to president and COO.

Tedone’s career at Vantis spans more than 30 years during the company’s growth as a life insurance provider, officials said.

Caucci has worked at Penn Mutual for over 30 years as chairman of the Pennsylvania Life & Health Insurance Guaranty Association board of directors. He also serves on several boards and committees for Penn Mutual.

Smith has been with Vantis for 20 years and became COO in 2007. He was named executive vice president in 2011 and director of its board in 2017.
