Windsor medical sister companies Raytel Cardiac Services, Inc. and Philips Remote Cardiac Services will lay off 85 employees by July, according to a filing with the Connecticut Department of Labor.
The companies’ WARN notice with the labor department says 85 non-union employees will be laid off from the Windsor location between Feb. 29 and June 29.
Their joint facility at 7 Waterside Crossing in Windsor is not closing with 200 people remaining in full employment.
The decision to lay off the 85 people came as technology in the industry is changing, and the companies reimbursement from Medicare and Medicaid changed in 2009, impacting finances, spokesman Joon Knapen said.
While offering a number of products, the companies provide remote monitoring of medical devices for patients and doctors.
