A $200,000 charitable contribution has launched replacement of the storm-damaged concert tent at the SS&C SummerWind Performing Arts Center in Windsor.
The Hartford Foundation for Public Giving issued a $150,000 grant to go with a $50,000 donation from Griffin Land to replace the covering for the 1,400-seat venue damaged in a 2003 snowstorm.
Work will be done by the Aug. 7 start of SS&C SummerWind’s first outdoor summer concert series since 2004, said Peter DeMallie, president of the board of directors.
