Windham Hospital is getting $101,597 from the federal health-services agency to grant to implement an electronic health record system at the two school based health clinics in town, authorities say.
The Department of Health and Human Services  is issuing the grant under the Affordable Care Act, which provided a total of $200 million for fiscal 2010 through fiscal 2013 for school-based health centers.
Windham Hospital provides healthcare services and staff at clinics in Windham Middle and High Schools. The schools receive more than 2,250 visits annually — including primary care visits and immunizations — from among the schools’ more than 465 pupils, according to Congressman Joe Courtney, whose office announced the grant.
