Avon businesswoman Lisa Wilson-Foley announced Wednesday that she is a Republican candidate for lieutenant governor.
Wilson-Foley says she has been involved in 10 business startups, four of them in health care, during her career.
She vows not to take public campaign funds but will seek to gather 8,000 signatures from registered Republicans by June 4 to guarantee a spot in the August primary.
Kevin Lembo, the state’s health care advocate, is the announced Democratic candidate for the seat currently held by Michael Fidele, who is a GOP candidate for governor.
