Willimantic lender SI Financial Group Inc. relied on positive interest-rate spreads to restore second-quarter profitability and declare a dividend.
The parent of Savings Institute Bank and Trust Co. earned $713,000, or 6 cents a share, in the three months ended June 30. That compares to a loss of $619,000, or a nickel a share, the same period a year ago.
The banking company will pay a common dividend of 3 cents a share on or about Aug. 27 to stockholders of record as of Aug. 9.
