Stratford-based William B. Meyer has completed a leadership transition. It is now being run by the fourth generation of the Meyer family.
Chairman Tom Gillon announced the appointment of Mike Racette as CEO and Tom Gillon, Jr., as president of the moving and logistics company.
William B. Meyer, Inc., which recently celebrated its 100th year in business, has remained a family owned company the entire time. Racette and Gillon will collaborate as the fourth generation of the Meyer family to assume both managerial and executive responsibilities. Both Racette and Gillon have been functioning in high-level executive roles as vice presidents and general managers of their respective business lines for the past several years.
Racette joined the company in 2002 as information technology manager and was responsible for the development and implementation of an e-commerce and financial services growth initiatives. In his most recent role, Tom Gillon Jr. managed the day-to-day functions of the entire household goods relocation department and all aspects of the United Van Lines relationship.
