An opening date for the new Whole Foods Market in South Windsor’s upscale outdoor shopping center, the Promenade Shops at Evergreen Walk, has been announced.
A spokesperson for Whole Foods said the store is slated to open Jan. 17, 2024.
The new 50,000-square-foot store is located on the western end of the property in the former Highland Park Market space, which closed in 2010.Â
It’s the grocery chain’s fifth store in the Greater Hartford area.
The new location will feature more than 1,000 local items from New England, according to the announcement from Whole Foods.
On opening day, the first 300 shoppers will receive a limited-edition tote bag and a coupon with offers for up to $100 off. Â
In June 2022, Charter Realty and Development, which manages the property, announced that Whole Foods would join several other new tenants, including The Goddard School, a private early childhood education provider, and furniture store Lovesac.Â
