Where you will find the most unfixed recalled cars in CT

Be careful where you buy your next used car in Connecticut. In certain cities, there’s a one-in-five chance it has an unrepaired recall on it.

According to Carfax, which provides vehicle history reports, more than 515,000 vehicles in Connecticut have at least one unfixed safety recall.

According to a Department of Motor Vehicles spokesman, there are about overall 3.2 million registered vehicles in CT and the majority, about 2.7 million, are passenger vehicles.

“Many people in Connecticut still are unnecessarily risking their lives by not staying informed or taking action when their vehicle is under a recall,” said Larry Gamache, communications director at Carfax. “Millions of vehicles will likely be recalled this year (nationally), adding to the ones already with outstanding airbag recalls, ignition switch recalls, electrical system recalls and more.”
