Where are the workers?

The rising cost of health care benefits and difficulty finding qualified employees are two of the biggest challenges facing Connecticut businesses, according to the results of a Connecticut Business & Industry Association and Blum Shapiro survey released this morning. Half of the executives surveyed said health care benefits are their top cost concern, while two-thirds say they are having a hard time hiring new employees and that the problem is getting worse.
