The Westport National Bank building in Fairfield has exchanged hands for $3.1 million, according to the town’s property records.
Edin Ahmetaj, of Wilton, and Alij Ahmetaj, of South Salem, New York, have bought the building, at 1100 Kings Highway East, in Fairfield, from Lar Associates LLC.
A call to Edin Ahmetaj was not immediately returned.
The 20,534-square-foot building was constructed in 1979 and is three stories tall. It is currently home to a bank branch. Westport National Bank merged with the Greenwich Bank & Trust Co. in 2004, and the company changed its name to Connecticut Community Bank.
As a result of the merger, Westport National Bank was renamed Westport National Bank, a division of Connecticut Community Bank, while remaining in the building at 1100 Kings Highway East.
The building was appraised at $3.12 million and assessed at $2.19 million in 2023, property records show.
