Westfarms mall is adding several new retail tenants and refreshed stores this summer, including the opening of a new Barnes & Noble bookstore in July.
Barnes & Noble recently closed its location at 1599 Southeast Road in Farmington, opting to move into a 22,512-square-foot space in the Macy’s wing of the mall. The bookseller
sold its previous location to a company controlled by the family that owns Hannoush Jewelers for $3.4 million last May.
Meantime, Swiss chocolatier Läderach will open its first Connecticut location on the upper level of the Nordstrom wing, bringing its fresh chocolate slabs, bars and seasonal limited-edition assortments.
Also, Pop Mart, a designer toy brand popular for its collectible character figures, is expected to open on the lower level in the JCPenney wing later this summer.
Ice cream-maker Häagen-Dazs recently opened a creamery in a Center Court storefront, marking its entry into the Greater Hartford market.
Several longtime tenants are also getting upgrades. Danish jewelry company Pandora is relocating to a larger space this month, expanding its assortment of charms and jewelry. Foot Locker completed a full store remodel and has reopened, and The North Face relocated to a new upper-level space near Center Court with a redesigned layout.
Specialty footwear retailer Journeys is set to reopen later this month after a remodel, and T-Mobile will reopen its revamped store in the Nordstrom wing in July.
Anchored by Nordstrom, Macy’s, Jordan’s Furniture and JCPenney, Westfarms is owned by Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group.
The mall is led by
new General Manager Carolyn Edwards.
