Western CT takes brunt of storm outages

Following severe Tuesday storms that may have produced a tornado, more than 92,000 utility customers were without power, according to Eversource and United Illuminating.

Outages were concentrated in the state’s western border around Danbury, which had 10,699 outages Wednesday morning.

UI reported a cluster of outages south of Wallingford, with Hamden leading, at 2,708 outages — about 10 percent of its customers there.

WFSB reported that the storms are being blamed for two deaths.
