West Haven officials have approved plans to build a medical marijuana growing facility that would employ 15 people, the Associated Press reports.
The town’s planning and zoning commission gave unanimous approval Tuesday night to an application from Fairfield-based Advanced Grow Labs, which wants to locate on Frontage Road, the AP said.
The facility would still need state permits. The state is still drafting medical regulations for pot growers, based on a bill passed last year. There could be up to 10 growing facilities approved, each of which would have to pay a $25,000 licensing fee, the AP reported.
