One Greater Hartford courier service company has absorbed another.
ProCourier Inc., which is based in West Hartford, announced Monday that it has acquired Hartford Courier Services LLC, which has its headquarters on Pratt Street in downtown Hartford.
The transaction was finalized on Dec. 1, according to officials with ProCourier. Financial details were not disclosed.
“Hartford Courier’s strong downtown base of customers meshes perfectly with ProCourier’s capabilities,” said Michael Gualtieri, ProCourier’s founder and president. “Adding a company with a concentrated focus on Hartford strengthens our local delivery capabilities and provides current Hartford Courier customers with expanded, customized services.”
ProCourier provides same-day courier services, on-demand and scheduled delivery services, next-flight-out capabilities and expedited trucking services. The company has operational facilities in West Hartford, New Haven, Stamford and Boston.
Hartford Courier Services provides document and package pick-up and express delivery services to companies in the downtown area, offering deliveries locally and throughout New England, New York and New Jersey. According to President Sean Murphy, most of its clients are law firms and title companies.
Murphy is expected to remain on during the transition period, ProCourier officials said.
