The Webby Awards, the so-called Internet Oscars which honor innovative Internet media, has named West Hartford-based OR-Live.com an official honoree for its Webcast of a brain tumor surgery from Children’s Hospital in Boston. The company, which provides surgical video for the U.S. National Library of Medicine’s Web site, has a Web archive with more than 400 surgeries that can be watched through streaming video. About 15 percent of the 8,000 nominations for Webby Awards are named official honorees. Nominations are judged by a range of celebrities and media mavens including David Bowie, Simpsons creator Matt Groening and RealNetworks CEO Rob Glaser.
