Hughes Health & Rehabilitation in West Hartford has appointed a UConn med school professor as its new medical director.
Dr. Satyarani Tallapureddy will take over the family-owned and operated healthcare center’s top medical position, replacing Dr. William Pickering, who recently retired after a nearly two-decade career with the company.
Tallapureddy, who runs a private practice and travel clinic in Hartford, currently serves as associate professor of medicine at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. Previously, Tallapureddy also served as the assistant director of the hospitalist program at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center.
Pickering will continue to serve as an attending physician at Hughes.
