West Hartford-based Triumph Engine Control Systems has been awarded a $36 million contract to create enhanced digital engine control units for the Army Aviation and Missile Command Center in Alabama.
The engine control unit is a computer that includes software to optimize engine operation, performance and efficiency.Â
Triumph has a long history of supplying the component – since 2013, the company has provided more than 7,000 EDECUs for the Apache, Black Hawk, Jayhawk and Seahawk aircraft fleets for the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard.Â
The newest deal is a four-year, one-time contract, and the work is expected to be completed by May 31, 2028.
