CompassMSP has completed another deal to grow its managed IT and cybersecurity business, further extending its reach in finance, legal and healthcare sectors.
West Hartford-based CompassMSP has completed another deal to grow its managed IT and cybersecurity business, further extending its reach in finance, legal and healthcare sectors.
The private equity-backed firm announced this week it has acquired New Jersey-based Simplegrid Technology Inc., which specializes in IT and compliance support for highly regulated industries.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The acquisition follows a series of ownership and expansion moves for CompassMSP. In February, private equity firm Agellus Capital announced it purchased CompassMSP and then merged the business with another portfolio company BlackPoint IT, a provider with offices in Seattle, Dallas and Phoenix. That deal added more than 100 employees to CompassMSP’s 300-person workforce and broadened its geographic reach.
CompassMSP moved its headquarters to West Hartford in 2021 after acquiring IT Direct, a firm founded by Ari Santiago. The company now provides cybersecurity, cloud migration, unified communications and compliance support to small, midsize and mid-market businesses nationwide.
Michael Rapp became CompassMSP’s CEO in 2025, succeeding Santiago.
