A limited liability company headed by the owner of West Hartford-based Materials Handling Systems recently paid $850,000 for a light manufacturing building on a third of an acre near the business.
D&L Realty LLC of West Hartford sold the property at 10 Grassmere Ave., to 10-18 Grassmere Ave. LLC in an $800,000 deal recorded March 1. The buyer also purchased a small sliver of adjacent land for $50,000, according to land records.
The buying limited liability company was established in December with William Howard as principal. According to its state business filing, Howard listed 77 Grassmere Ave. in West Hartford as his business address. That is the location of Materials Handling Systems, which lists William E. Howard III as owner on its state business filing.
Material Handling System’s website lists Howard as its CEO.
Attempts to reach Howard were not successful.
On its website, Materials Handling Systems describes itself as “a leading supplier of cranes and hoists in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New York City.” It supplies vertical lifts, lift tables, conveyors, storage equipment, racks and more.
David H. and Lesa J. Parsons of New Fairfield are the principals for the D&L Realty, according to its state business filing.
