A restaurant in West Hartford Center has announced plans to close on Saturday.
In a Facebook post earlier this week, the owners of Union Kitchen and Bar at 43 Lasalle Road cited rising real estate costs as the reason they decided “to not renew our lease.”
“We are sad to announce that we will be closing after service this Saturday, June 6th,” the post states.
The post does not say whether the owners intend to seek a new location.
“We have had an incredible 9 year run in West Hartford,” the post adds. “We hope to see you for one last meal in our dining room or a drink at our bar as we bid farewell …”
The contemporary American restaurant had been nominated two years in a row for Best Restaurant in Hartford County by the Connecticut Restaurant Association, according to its website.
In addition to serving lunch and dinner, the restaurant also offered space for events and provided catering services.
