Legrand, a West Hartford-based manufacturer of electrical and digital building infrastructure products, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire a Cleveland energy company, Avtron Power Solutions.
Avtron designs and manufactures power equipment, including load banks and power quality products for critical power systems.
The acquisition, announced Thursday, will bring Avtron’s 600 employees and five manufacturing sites across North America and Europe into Legrand’s portfolio. Avtron is expected to generate nearly $350 million in revenue in 2025 with high profitability, according to the announcement.
Avtron, which has operated for 75 years, serves markets including data centers, healthcare facilities, renewable energy applications and industrial manufacturing sites.
Once the deal is completed, Avtron will operate as a standalone business unit within Legrand’s Electrical Wiring Systems division.
David Cox, Avtron’s current CEO, will continue to oversee the business and report to Ravi Ramanathan, Legrand’s president of Electrical Wiring Systems.
Legrand’s parent company is based in France. The company makes cables, intercom systems, lighting controls and an array of other digital products for homes and buildings.
