Wells Fargo gives $69K to CT nonprofits

Wells Fargo & Co. doled out $1,000 grants to 69 Connecticut nonprofits to celebrate the recent planting of its banking flag in state soil.

The San Francisco banking giant is the successor to the former Wachovia Bank network in the state.

The bank’s Community Partners Breakfast series gives local branch managers the opportunity to choose nonprofit to get the grant, Wells Fargo said.

“We used this occasion to celebrate and acknowledge our community partners who provide critical services to local residents,” said Joe Kirk, Wells Fargo’s regional president for Connecticut and New York.
