WellPoint CFO forced out

David Colby, CFO of Indianapolis-based WellPoint, the Blue Cross and Blue Shield licensee for Connecticut, has been forced out of his position for undisclosed violations of company policy. In a statement, WellPoint did not elaborate on the violations, saying only that they were neither illegal, nor related to the business of the company. Wayne DeVeydt, who has been WellPoint’s chief accounting officer for the last two years, has replaced Colby.
