Nonprofit behavioral health provider WellPath Inc. paid $2.2 million for the Moriarity Building at 141 E. Main St. in downtown Waterbury. It plans to use the space for an expansion.
WellPath bought the property from Robert Lenkowski, Timothy Moynahan, Oscar Silverman, John Sullivan, and the trust of Victor Colaci.
Webster Bank is financing $1.9 million of the purchase price, authorities said.
WellPath plans to expand its child and adolescent support services that are already located in the Moriarty, as well as relocate its administrative offices there from space it leases at 562 Lakewood Road in Waterbury.
About 70 WellPath staffers will eventually work in the building, which houses a dozen retail and office tenants, including law firm Moynahan and Minnella LLC, Razor’s Edge, Southbury Driving School, Addison Bail Bonds, Mel Café, and The Daily Grind.
Waterbury merchant and real estate developer John Moriarty built the structure circa 1880 on East Main Street (named Broadway until 1900).
Originally known as “John Moriarty’s Two Acres on Broadway”, the building encompassed the original Poli’s Palace Theater, which opened in 1922, according to local lore. The building has been rebuilt, restored and renovated several times during its 130-year history.
$1.2M Branford sale
Marketer Sweitzer Enterprises LLC has purchased a 21,600-square-foot, office-warehouse building in Branford.
The property at 54 Industrial Road sold for $1.175 million, according to The Geenty Group Realtors, which brokered the deal.
The seller was Advanced Metals Technology Inc.
HRF expands in Bristol
Farmington manufacturer HRF Fasteners Inc. has purchased a warehouse/manufacturing facility in Bristol for $1.925 million for an expansion.
The property at 70 Horizon Drive has a 51,880-square-foot building on 4.78 acres in the 229 Technology Park.
HRF bought the property from New England Bank in Enfield.
HRF plans on completing the relocation of its Brickyard Road, Farmington, facility by the end of June.
Sentry Commercial represented HRF in the purchase.
Kohl’s in New Milford
Kohl’s has chosen New Milford for its newest Connecticut value department store.
Danbury Road Developers will break ground soon on Litchfield Crossings, located on Route 7 in New Milford, with Kohl’s as the anchor retailer, authorities said.
It will join existing tenants AT&T, Housatonic Internal Medicine & Pediatrics and Union Savings Bank.
The cost of the retail project was not divulged, but town officials estimate it will add an estimated $750,000 annually in new tax revenue to New Milford.
East Granby lease
RSCC Wire and Cable, Inc. has leased 6,120 square feet of warehouse and manufacturing space at 29 Kripes Road in East Granby.
The manufacturer of specialty wire and cable plans to use the space for storing and refurbishing its machinery.
The building is 48,480-square-foot, multi-story industrial building located in the Airport Business Center.
Sentry Commercial represented the landlord, Airport Business Center III LLC in the lease.
New England Forms renews
New England Form Management Inc. renewed its lease of 4,000 square feet at 250 Nutmeg Road South, in South Windsor.
New England Forms has been at the location since 2006. The landlord is New State Road Associates LLC.
Sentry Commercial brokered the lease.
PDS’ E. Hartford lease
Temporary staffer PDS Tech Inc. has leased 1,491 square feet of office space at 290 Roberts St. in East Hartford for an office move.
PDS will relocate from 800 Connecticut Blvd. in East Hartford.
PDS was represented by Dowd Commercial Advisors; landlord Roberts Street Associates LLC was represented by Sentry Commercial Real Estate Services Inc.
