Waterbury regional lender Webster Bank’s efforts to keep borrowers in their homes earned it a profile on ABC News, which likened second-generation Chairman and CEO Jim Smith to the fictitional lender George Bailey in the holiday movie, “It’s a Wonderful Life.”
The story with correspondent Chris Cuomo was seen by about 8 million viewers on television and more worldwide via Internet and social media.
Also featured in the segment was a Connecticut family who shared their story of how Webster worked with them to modify their mortgage loan.
