Webster’s $2M+ refresh of its W. Hartford sites

Webster Bank is spending more than $2 million to refresh interiors of its four West Hartford branches.

The biggest changes will occur at its 65 LaSalle Road location, in West Hartford Center, which will be equipped with an extra walk-up automated teller machine and a new interior floorplan, the Waterbury lender says. The site also will house the second Webster Private Bank office in the state.

Its branches at 1114 New Britain Ave., in the Elmwood section, 75 Park Road and Ringgold Street, and Bishops Corner will undergo more limited but substantive exterior and interior improvements, officials said. Work is already underway at the Elmwood branch.

Its Bishops Corner branch, 774 N. Main St., will have a drive-thru ATM added to the existing single drive-thru as well as extensive external renovations.

All four banking centers will have Wi-Fi hotspots and coin counters for customer convenience as well as new, more comfortable furnishings and large digital displays.

Bridgeport’s Antinozzi Associates is the architect.

The renovations and remodeling projects are expected to begin June 15 and be completed by yearend. Branches will remain open while work is underway, said spokeswoman Sarah Barr.

Webster President Jerry Plush said more branch upgrade announcements lay ahead.
