A Webster Financial Corp. executive has been promoted to lead retail banking and consumer lending efforts for the corporation and Webster Bank.
Jonathan W. Roberts, most recently an executive vice president, will now oversee retail operations and the banking center network, and will lead core consumer products and services, including small business banking.
Roberts, who joined the Waterbury-based Webster in 2017, will report directly to Chairman, President and CEO John R. Ciulla.
According to Webster, since his arrival, Roberts has led growth in consumer deposits and spearheaded Webster’s ongoing modernization and technology expansion efforts.
Roberts is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati, and he later completed the ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking. He is also an alumnus of the Wharton School of Business, General Management Program.
