Webster lends $25M to rehab Boston landmark

Webster Bank says it is providing a $25 million bridge loan to a development partnership to renovate Two Oliver Street, one of Boston’s most historic buildings.

The four-year financing to P6/Saracen Two Oliver Real Estate LLC, a joint venture between Saracen Properties, LLC and AEW Capital Management, will rehab the 11-story building in the city’s Financial District, the Waterbury bank said Thursday.

Work includes updating the heating, cooling and ventilation system; new elevator cabs, and main entrance; increased ceiling heights; and the creation of a second office lobby on Batterymarch Street.

AEW and Saracen recently partnered in the renovation of neighboring  One Washington Mall in the Financial District, the bank said.
