Waterbury lender Webster Bank said it has added two seats to its board of directors and filled them with former presidents of major insurance companies.
Webster said it has appointed William Atwell, who was president of Cigna International until 2012 and is also chairman of Fairfield University’s board of trustees.
Also appointed was Elizabeth Flynn, who until last year was president of Marsh LLC’s insurance services group. Flynn is now vice chairman of the New York insurance brokerage’s board of directors.
Atwell’s and Flynn’s board terms, which expire as of Webster’s 2015 annual meeting, begin July 28 and Sept. 22, respectively.
Each will receive a pro rata portion of annual cash and stock awards Webster grants to its non-employee directors.
In 2013, that included an annual retainer of $32,000 and 2,631 shares of restricted stock, which vest over a three-year period. Board members also receive meeting attendance fees.
