Webster Bank named veteran Connecticut bankers Timothy Bergstrom and Michael O’Connor regional presidents to oversee its Greater Hartford and Greater Waterbury regions, respectively.
“Tim and Mike are positioned to be outstanding regional presidents, stepping into the community-facing portion of the roles of Bob Annon and Rick O’Brien, both of whom recently retired after notable careers at Webster,’’ said John Ciulla, Webster’s executive vice president in charge of commercial banking. “Tim and Mike are bankers with deep relationships in the markets they serve.”
Bergstrom has more than 25 years of retail and business banking experience and is senior vice president, responsible for business banking’s Connecticut activities.
A Burlington resident, Bergstrom is on the board of directors of the Waterbury Regional Chamber, the Waterbury Housing Fund, the United Way of Greater Waterbury, the Palace Theater, the Community Economic Development Fund, and the Community Investment Corp.
He also served as campaign chair of the United Way of Greater Waterbury Community
Campaign for the 2009-2010 campaign years. He has a bachelor’s degree from UConn.
O’Connor has more than 20 years of construction and real estate experience and currently serves as senior vice president and director of corporate real estate.
A Woodbury resident, O’Connor is a retired U.S. Army officer, who also served in the National Guard. O’Connor is on the board of the Palace Theater; a member of the Greater Waterbury United Way; and immediate past board chair of the Greater Waterbury YMCA.
He earned his bachelor’s degree at High Point College and his law degree at Ohio Northern University.
