Webster Bank is among Connecticut banks offering special assistance to tide customers through the ordeal of recovering from power outages, flooding and wind damages from last weekend’s storm.
Webster is offering low-interest loans and other services to customers and homeowners in Connecticut, New York, Rhode Island and Massachusetts affected by Tropical Storm Irene.
The aid plan includes rates 1 ½ percentage points below the regular rate on new home improvement loans and a temporary fee waiver for use of non-Webster ATMs from last Saturday through Wednesday.
Wells Fargo Bank is offering similar aid to its customers in Connecticut and eastern seaboard impacted by Irene.
