According to the Stamford-based bank, the appointment represents an expansion of its commercial and industrial middle market banking.

Planned Parenthood names new chief medical officer

Dr. Nancy L. Stanwood joined Planned Parenthood of Southern New England on June 1 as the organization’s inaugural full-time chief medical officer.
Stanwood is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist with over 20 years of experience in clinical practice, medical education, and reproductive health and rights advocacy.
At Planned Parenthood, she will lead its clinical care services across 15 health centers in Connecticut and Rhode Island. She will lead its efforts to advance health equity and improve health outcomes.
Stanwood said she first walked into a Planned Parenthood health center as a patient seeking contraception when she was in medical school. That care allowed her to focus on her education and becoming a physician, she said.
“In this critical time, with the erosion of almost 50 years of legal protection for reproductive rights and with growing health disparities due to systemic racism, I am committing myself fully to the mission and work of Planned Parenthood of Southern New England,” Stanwood said, in an announcement. “All people deserve access to the care they need to live their lives with dignity and to thrive.”
