Wealth management subsidiary of CT community bank names new president

Grey Ledge Advisors, the Guilford-based investment advisory subsidiary of Ascend Bank, has appointed Michael Schulitz as president.

Schulitz, a certified financial planner and chartered alternative investment analyst, will report to CEO Ken Russell, who will continue to lead the company’s strategic direction.

Grey Ledge said it has grown assets under management from about $200 million to more than $600 million over the past five years.

Schulitz previously held senior roles with RMC Investment Advisors, Voya Financial and Wilshire Associates. He has an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Union College.

Grey Ledge Advisors is the subsidiary of Ascend Bank, formerly known as Guilford Savings Bank. Ascend has $1.4 billion in assets.
