A Shelton-based wealth management firm has bought an office building in Darien for $1.125 million with plans to occupy the building’s first floor, according to a broker who represented the seller.
Monkey Heads Realty LLC, controlled by John-Oliver Beirne, of Darien, purchased the 2,657-square-foot, two-story building, at 20 Old Kings Highway South. Beirne is a partner with and president of Beirne, a Shelton-based registered investment advisory firm.
Calls to Beirne were not immediately returned.
Beirne plans to move into the building’s first floor, said Scott Gance, president and founder of The Partners Commercial Real Estate Services, which brokered the deal. The building has a second-floor tenant. It isn’t clear if the company will relocate to Darien or use the Old Kings Highway building as a second location.
The seller was Sole Foundation LLC, controlled by Josephine Velazquez and David Rucquoi, of Darien. They bought the building for $540,000 in 2020, property records show.
The building, which sits on a 0.21-acre parcel and was built in 1926, is appraised at $1.06 million and assessed at $740,880.
Beirne changed its name from Beirne Wealth Consulting Services in 2023.
