Sonic Healthcare USA and Western Connecticut Health Network (WCHN) have agreed to form a joint venture for laboratory services for individuals and healthcare providers throughout Connecticut.
The joint venture, Constitution Diagnostics Network (CDN), combines the clinical and anatomic pathology laboratory testing of WCHN’s Danbury, Norwalk and New Milford hospitals with testing capabilities offered by Sonic Healthcare USA through its Sunrise Medical Laboratories division based in Hicksville, N.Y., and other affiliates, WCHN said in a news release.
Terms of the deal were not released.
Sunrise is the flagship laboratory of Sonic’s Northeast Division, and is known for its community based, medically led laboratory services, the release said.
About 80 percent of the testing completed by CDN will be performed at WCHN.
The deal is part of Sonic Healthcare’s strategy to create laboratory affiliations with health systems around the country, Steve Shumpert, Sonic Healthcare USA’s CEO, said in the release.
