Seifert Associates, a national construction engineering firm with its headquarters in Watertown, Connecticut, has been bought by a Massachusetts-based rival.
Seifert Associates, a national construction engineering firm with its headquarters in Watertown, Connecticut, has been bought by a Massachusetts-based company.
GZA GeoEnvironmental, a multi-disciplinary firm providing geotechnical, environmental, ecological, water and construction management services, will take on 30 members of Siefert’s 31-strong workforce, including CEO Vincent Siefert.
The firm will be integrated into GZA’s Contractor Services practice, and the team will report to Contractor Services District Office Manager Brad Roberts.
Siefert Associates holds professional engineering licenses in 25 states, the District of Columbia, and Ontario.
GZA’s primary service territories are New England, New York, the Mid-Atlantic and Great Lakes region.
Some of the marquee projects Siefert has worked on include the Mobile Launcher 2 associated with NASA’s Project Artemis; the raising of the Bayonne Bridge in New Jersey; the MBTA Green Line Extension near Boston; and major overhauls of the Brooklyn and George Washington Bridges in New York.
Siefert's Watertown office will remain open, with 19 employees based there.
In addition to Connecticut, the company also has offices in White Plains, N.Y. and Morristown, N.J.
“Siefert Associates’ portfolio strongly complements GZA’s existing contractor services practice, giving us both expanded construction engineering expertise and opportunities for our combined team to even better serve our contractor clients and the infrastructure market,” said GZA President and CEO Patrick Sheehan.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
