The Water’s Edge Resort & Spa in Westbrook has added three industry veterans to its management team.
John V. Cortesi becomes executive chef. He moves from the Madison Beach Hotel where he served as executive chef. Previously, he held executive chef positions with responsibility for overseeing food, beverage and banquet operations at the Saybrook Point Inn and Spa; Four Points by Sheraton, Meriden; the Inn at Mystic’s Flood Tide Restaurant and Wampanoag Country Club. Cortesi earned high Zagat and Wine Spectator ratings for the 4 Diamond Terra Mar Grill at Saybrook Point Inn.
Anthony Amendola becomes director of sales and marketing. He most recently was director of sales and marketing for the Tarrytown House Estate in Tarrytown, NY. Previously, he was director of sales and marketing for the Hilton Stamford Hotel and Executive Meeting Center; senior director of global business travel for the Americas at the Sol Melia Hotels and Resorts; director of sales and marketing at the Paramount Hotel as well as at the Millennium United Nations Plaza Hotel in New York City.
And Giuseppe Mauriello becomes restaurant manager. Previously, he was director of dining at the Gables Assisted Living of Brookdale in Farmington and director of food and beverage for the Sheraton Hartford Hotel, East Hartford. He is trained in culinary schools in Italy and began his career with Princess Cruise Line.
