Two Connecticut Macy’s department stores will close soon as the chain continues a move out of underperforming malls.
The Macy’s at the Brass Mill Center in Waterbury and the Crystal Mall in Waterford are on a list of 37 stores set to close this year, according to a list obtained by CNBC.
A total of eight Macy’s currently operate in Connecticut, including stores in Farmington and Manchester, according to the company’s website.
Macy’s opened an outlet of its Macy’s Backstage discount store at Westfarms Mall in August as part of a larger expansion of its Backstage brand.
