Looking for a job or need employees?
The Waterbury Regional Chamber, in partnership with the Northwest Regional Workforce Investment Board, is hosting a free Virtual Job Fair this month.
The event will be Wednesday, Oct. 28, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. utilizing a new online platform provided by Premier Virtual.
Any business or organization looking to hire fewer than 20 workers may register for the event and set up a virtual “booth” that can be customized with a business’ logo, social media links and background.
Businesses and organizations also can post information about each available job, and will have the ability to chat with job-seekers who visit their online “booths.”
Afterward, businesses and organizations also can download information about all of the applicants who visited.
A link to register and set up a booth, as well as a link to an instructional video, will be provided to each business that registers for the event on the chamber website, at www.waterburychamber.com.
Job-seekers who register can post photos of themselves and .pdf-versions of their résumés, and may visit any or all of the booths of participating businesses and organizations. Registration information for job-seekers is also available on the chamber website.
“The ability to conduct job fairs in these unique times using a virtual format provides a tremendous opportunity for both job-seekers and employers,” said Catherine Awwad, executive director of the NRWIB. “These unusual times in which we live have challenged our thinking and pushed us to look at new ways to respond to the workforce system’s needs. We encourage both employers and potential employees to utilize this platform as we continue to recover from this worldwide pandemic.”
Any business interested in participating in the Virtual Job Fair should visit www.waterburychamber.com, or call the chamber at 203-757-0701.
