The Northeast Energy Efficiency Council – Connecticut Chapter presented its Environmental Stewardship Award to Waterbury recycler Albert Bros., Inc. for reducing its electricity consumption.
Albert Bros. participated in the Energy Opportunities Program offered by Energize Connecticut to upgrade motors, lights, and other equipment to achieve energy savings of $12,120 annually.
Waterbury contractor Traver IDC performed the upgrades, with president Jack Traver noting such efficiencies helped companies such as Albert Bros. remained competitive in the global marketplace.
The Northeast Energy Efficiency Council is an association of businesses in the region. The funding for the program used by Albert Bros. comes from a charge on ratepayers’ electric bills.
