The nursing program at Naugatuck Valley Community College has received a $30,000 donation from the nation’s leading dialysis network to equip the college’s new nursing simulation lab with state-of-the-art training tools.
Fresenius Medical Care North America, based in Waltham, Mass., operator of the nation’s leading network of dialysis facilities, made the donation. The subsidiary of German-based Fresenius Medical Care AG & Co. KGaA runs a network of 2,349 dialysis clinics in North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia-Pacific and Africa.
Fresenius hires NVCC nursing graduates and provides extensive dialysis treatment training for nurses in the greater Waterbury region.
“This state-of-the-art facility used to train nurses in a real-time environment will help us to graduate much-needed medical professionals to fill the demands of the healthcare field for the foreseeable future,” said college President Daisy Cocco De Filippis.
