Waterbury manufacturer acquired by Midwest plating company

A Waterbury-based manufacturing and plating company has been sold, according to a financial advisory firm involved in the deal.

National Integrated Industries Inc. (NII) has been acquired by Indianapolis, Indiana-based Sumco, a division of Industrial Manufacturing Group.

The deal was announced by Southport M&A advisory firm Carter Morse & Goodrich, which said it served as NII’s financial advisor in the deal.

Terms of the sale were not disclosed. However, property records show that in December NII sold its Waterbury headquarters at 1358 Thomaston Ave. for just over $1 million.

According to its website, Sumco Group has facilities in Indianapolis and Joliet, Illinois, and provides precision electroplating services for a range of industries, including automotive, military, utilities and renewable energy. The company says it specializes in selective and controlled-depth plating, including tin, nickel, copper, silver and gold finishes.

Founded in 1950 and headquartered in Waterbury, National Integrated Industries provides manufacturing and plating services. It operates through two divisions: American Electro Products, an electroplating business, and American Plastic Products, a custom injection molding division.

Pullman & Comley served as NII’s legal advisor, and CBIZ provided quality of earnings support.
