Three central Connecticut waste management companies on Wednesday opened a public access compressed natural gas fueling station in Hartford for CNG vehicles.
The station at 33 Maxim Road in Hartford will be operated by USA Hauling & Recycling, All American Waste, and All Waste. Clean Energy, the continent’s largest supplier for natural gas for transportation, also will operate the station.
The facility will support the companies’ CNG trucks, as well as service vans, taxis, transit shuttles, and private vehicles.
CNG vehicles are alternatives to gasoline-powered vehicles and emit 23-30 percent less greenhouse gases.
