A Walmart store in Old Saybrook will re-open next week after a three-month remodeling project giving local shoppers a glimpse of the company’s next generation of store design.
The remodeled store, which is located at 665 Boston Post Road, will feature a more open shopping environment with wider aisles that contain no product displays. The store also aligns the departments that customers shop most frequently and creates a brighter interior paint scheme and enhanced lighting.
Additionally the store will have low-profile shelving which is intended to create an improved sightline, and directional signage that helps customers find products faster.
The store will also expand its electronics department with interactive displays for hi-definition Blu-ray, video gaming and portable electronics.
Walmart recently closed a store in New Britain.
