Retail giant Walmart is making finishing touches toward opening in two weeks its neighborhood grocery in West Hartford, and is actively hiring some 90 workers to staff it, authorities say.
The store at 333 N. Main St., to the rear of the Marshall’s off-price department store in Bishops Corner, will debut Feb. 20.
It will be the first Walmart Neighborhood Market in the Northeast, a spokesman said Wednesday.
At 59,000 square feet, it’s roughly half the size of a typical Walmart but will feature only groceries and a limited assortment of general merchandise.
