The newest Connecticut Walmart opening in Brooklyn this fall needs some 300 new hires and a casting call has gone out.
The world’s largest retailer announced Tuesday that full- and part-time applications for the Supercenter store are being taken online at http://careers.walmart.com.
Walmart also has opened a temporary hiring center at 134 Main St., third floor, in nearby Danielson. Honorably discharged veterans within the past 12 months are encouraged to apply.
Most will begin work in September, to prepare the store for its grand opening at an unspecified date, Walmart said.
Jay McClure, who joined Walmart in 2010 as its Southington store manager, will run the Brooklyn location.
Separately, Walmart says it will grand-open Aug. 28 its expanded Cromwell supercenter store at 161 Berlin Road. That store added 35,000 square feet, to 150,000 square feet, and added another 85 full- and part-time workers to push its payroll close to 300.
J.D. Rine manages the Cromwell store.
